As more and more young people are opting to study at professional football clubs up and down the country as an alternative to their education, there's never been a better time than now to continue your studies at PNE!
Whilst plenty are aware of Preston North End as a football club, there may be less people familiar with Preston North End as an education provider, but having delivered Level Two and Three Diplomas in Sport and Exercise for six years, the course welcomed a total of 53 students on to the programme for the 2018/19 academic year.
Our courses are ideal for anybody who is looking to put their passion of sport into practice with various modules that prepare students to progress in the sport and leisure industry, as well as real life work experience opportunities. This includes working as Academy coaches to becoming fully qualified referees.
So, if you're in Year 11 as of this year or you know somebody with a passion for sport who is looking for the next step in their education, we have an upcoming open evening where all are welcome to meet our course tutors and coaches and find out more about the education programme at Preston North End.
We'll be hosting the next open evening on Monday 24th June at the community offices located at the back of the Alan Kelly Town End stand at Deepdale from 6pm. To find out more, or to inform us you are coming to one of our open evenings, call 01772 693309 or email education@pne.com.
This unique and high quality experience combines engaging, small group educational lessons and sports modules with our tutors, with the opportunity to train and develop with UEFA/FA qualified coaches, gain exclusive work experience and represent Preston North End in various regional and national competitions.
The carefully selected modules within this course will allow students to sample a variety of fields within the sports industry with potential career pathways including but not limited to: sports development, sports science, sports medicine, sports coaching, sports nutrition, sports therapy, personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, sports journalism and law in sport.
In addition to this, our students will have the opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ experience throughout the duration of the course. Current students have taken advantage of these opportunities to work alongside our coaches, sports therapists and the media department to name a few in a professional football club environment.
