FA Youth Cup Details Confirmed

28 November 2019

Details for PNE's FA Youth Cup third round tie against Bristol City have now been confirmed.

The U18s will take on the Robins at Deepdale on Monday 16th December 2019, with a 7pm kick-off under the lights.

Teams from the Premier League and Championship enter at the third round stage with both sides set to begin their FA Youth Cup campaigns with this tie.

Season card holders from both clubs can get free entry on the night, while non-season card holders can pay on the night for just £4 for adults and £2 for conessions.

North End's youngsters have started their season in fine form, sitting top of the North West Youth Alliance league, while Bristol City's Category Two Academy side currently compete in the U18 Professional Development League South and currently sit fourth in their division.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Academy manager Nick Harrison said:

"The prospect is exciting – for the players and the staff, everyone wants to play in or be involved in those types of games. We’re really excited and looking forward to it.

"We know it’s going to be very tough, we know Bristol City have got a good group of players, so it’s going to be challenging, but we believe in the players that we’ve got and I think everybody will be looking forward to the game.

"I’m sure the players should feel that they’re fighting for places for the big game at Deepdale against Bristol City. That will hopefully create better performances – that’s what we want – and we want to create that winning mentality, so hopefully that continues next Saturday."

The draw for the FA Youth Cup fourth round has now also been made, with the winner of this tie set to face Oxford United or Maidenhead United away from home.
