The youth team have been drawn at home against Bristol City in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
Teams from the Premier League and Championship enter at the third round stage with both sides set to begin their FA Youth Cup campaigns with this tie, which will be played at Deepdale.
North End's youngsters have started their season in fine fettle, sitting top of the North West Youth Alliance league and having already progressed to the regional quarter finals of the Youth Alliance Cup.
The Robins' Category Two Academy side currently compete in the U18 Professional Development League South and have also started strongly, currently occupying third place in their division.
