A new broom has swept in at Reading, with Mark Bowen taking charge for the first time when Preston North End visit the Madejski Stadium this weekend.
The Lilywhites face off against Bowen’s Royals, looking to extend their eight-game unbeaten run that goes back to the second week of the season. Currently sitting just a point off the top, Alex Neil’s side will look to enhance their position in the top six with a positive performance in Berkshire.
North End’s record at Reading is not one to savour, however, confidence is high and after the international break, the team will be desperate to start back as they left off, having put five past Barnsley to end Daniel Stendel’s Oakwell reign before the interval.
The manager is likely to have plenty of positive selection headaches, with players who missed the game before the two-week gap back in training and Reading-born Darnell Fisher free of suspension.
There is also likely to be a good following behind the team, with close to 800 tickets already sold and more than 1,000 expected to be backing the yellows in full voice on Saturday afternoon.
