Josh Ginnelly has credited his teammates for their performances in tonight’s 4-1 win over Chorley in the Lancashire Senior Cup.

Ginnelly netted a first half hat-trick, with Josh Harrop adding a fourth in the second half, but the winger credited the attitudes of his teammates and their good performance.

Speaking to iFollowPNE, he said: “It’s helped me with my confidence, it’s nice to get on the scoresheet but to get into the next round as well.

“That’s all credit to the boys, coming here sometimes the attitudes not there but we’re a team that goes off attitude and work rate.

“Credit to the boys, everyone turned up and put in a very professional performance.

“For the lads that haven’t played a lot, these types of games you’ve got to play as quick as you can.

“If you’re called upon for the starting team you’ve got to be ready to play.

“No disrespect to this game but the Championship is very quick so you have to be ready.”

North End’s no.17 has been working show what he’s capable of and knows that the manager keeps a close eye on his squad, whether that is on a matchday or in training.

Not just in the games that I play in but in training every day, he watches very closely. I just have to keep showing him that I’m taking on board what he’s saying and hopefully my chance comes.

“We work a lot on creating chances, if you don’t create chances you don’t win games,” he said.

“We work on that in training and it showed tonight.

“We’ve got some fantastic players. Sometimes it might be some individual brilliance but sometimes it might be something we’ve worked on in training.

“We always try and create chances, we’re not a defensive.

“Everyone who steps on the pitch steps out to try and get back in the team.

“It’s nice to see Nuge and Hughesy back on the pitch and get their minutes in because they’re big players.”
