Academy players Joe Nolan and Jacob Holland-Wilkinson have both been nominated for December’s LFE Goal of the Month Award for their respective volleys in North End’s 2-0 FA Youth Cup victory over Bristol City.
Nolan opened the scoring in the third round tie with a sweetly struck left-footed effort from just inside the penalty area on the stroke of half-time.
Holland-Wilkinson then ensured the young Lilywhites’ safe passage into the next round in the second half, also with an impressive volleyed strike. The 17-year-old met a high ball from the left with a superb connection on his right foot to find the bottom corner.
North End’s youngsters now face Oxford United in the FA Youth Cup fourth round on Wednesday 15th January away at the Kassam Stadium. Kick-off is at 7pm.
