U18s To Face Blackburn Rovers In FA Youth Cup

21 January 2020

Preston North End's U18s will face a local derby in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.

The young Lilywhites will take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park after the 2-0 win over Oxford United at Deepdale, with a 7pm kick-off on Tuesday 18th February.

An Ethan Walker brace in the fourth round set up the tie with Rovers beating Charlton Athletic 1-0 to secure their place in the next stage of the competition.

Supporters will be able to attend with tickets priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

PNE supporters have been allocated a section in the lower tier of the Jack Walker Stand, with North End fans situated to the side nearest the Brian Douglas Stand.

If you plan to show your support for Nick Harrison's young side, North End supporters should enter through turnstiles 'L'.

Speaking about the upcoming tie following the win over Oxford, Academy boss Nick Harrison said: “I think that was the incentive for both teams today, Charlton or Blackburn would have been a great tie in the next round and thankfully it's us who will be there and thankfully it's Blackburn Rovers.

“It's a short journey, a fantastic stadium to play in and an excellent team so it's something the players should be looking forward to.”
