Following Sunday’s announcement that the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season is set to return behind closed doors from the weekend of 20th June, the club have been working behind the scenes to prepare for the run in from a commercial perspective.
The pandemic has financially hit football clubs at all levels and whilst the club is a stable position, due to the support of the owner, with the season being played out behind closed doors we will unfortunately lose all matchday related income for the remainder of the campaign.
As part of this the club has examined other opportunities for sponsorship income, as the club’s head of commercial partnership’s Stephen Hobin explains.
“Prior to the outbreak the club was delighted to see that we had risen to one of the highest in the Championship in terms of media values for our sponsors.
“Essentially this means our partners and sponsors have had incredible exposure in comparison to many other clubs in our division. Media values are what drive sponsorship values, and our iconic stadium, camera positioning and product placement, television coverage and of course the team working towards a Play-Off position have all helped us achieve this.
“Therefore, for the remaining four league fixtures, we have the following packages available for businesses to gain exposure to the TV and online audiences, to give a message of support to the team when they play without our amazing supporters in the stadium.
“There are three packages of banner advertising available to fill the empty seating in uniquely prime positions in all four stands which will help create a tighter stadium while also encouraging the team with good luck messages and of course supporting the club financially through this unprecedented situation.”
