The Player Of The Year Interviews: 2007 – Matthew Hill

7 June 2020

The final Player of the Year interview for this week, sees us go back to the mid-noughties to catch up with former Lilywhites left back Matthew Hill.

The Bristol-born defender joined the club from club on the red side of the south west city and he explains that he was on his way from a meeting with Queens Park Rangers when he got a call from Billy Davies!

That season, arriving in a new city with a pregnant partner and a new club, he played his part as North End made it all the way to the Play-Off Final at the Millennium Stadium, which he recalls.
The 2007 recipient of the award recalls his four years with the club, which included three managers, discussing the highs and lows of his time in a lilywhites shirt, before moving on to Wolves.
To watch the full interview, just click on the video at the top of the page and come back tomorrow when we will have another of our interviews, as we look to speak to every Official Preston North End Player of the Year winner we can over the coming weeks.

You can also check out all the multiple interviews we have completed so far, including the likes of Youl Mawene, Aiden McGeady and Mike Elwiss, with more to come next week, including Richard Cresswell, Michael Jackson, Jon Macken and Billy Jones - click here now for those done.
