Thompson Building Services Light Up Deepdale In New Sponsorship Deal

25 June 2020

Preston-based electrical engineering and building firm Thompson Building Services have teamed-up with PNE to sponsor the floodlight stanchions in all four corners of Deepdale, to show their support to the club for the remainder of the season.

With all games being played behind closed doors, the club moved fast to secure alternative unique advertising opportunities within the stadium, with various banner advertising locations available within the TV arc at Deepdale; the most prestigious of which being the floodlights which lend themselves perfectly in prime TV facing positions.

Thompson Building Services managing director Stuart Thompson needed little persuading in the opportunity to proudly drape his companies name alongside life-size images of some of the team and proudly support the lads as they play to an empty Deepdale.

The company are no strangers to PNE, as they regularly service the floodlights and provide support to the club’s maintenance department on all things electrical and therefore this deal seemed a perfect fit.

On the deal, Stuart Thompson said:

“Thompson Building Services are delighted to be the official sponsors of the iconic floodlights at Deepdale, we are really pleased to be able to support the club with this sponsorship.

“It is just a real shame we won’t be there in person to see and cheer the team on, but good luck PNE!”

With regards to the club’s commercial restart project, Stephen Hobin, PNE’s head of commercial partnerships said: “It is no secret that with the football industry coming to a complete standstill, all clubs have been hit financially.

“With the loss of all related matchday income we wanted to come up with a project that helped the players in terms of playing to an empty stadium and also recoup a little of the lost revenue.

“We have been truly overwhelmed by our tremendous supporters, with fans and businesses coming together to fill the seats with banners and offer their support to the players and the club.

“They may not there in person, but they certainly will be in spirit. I would like to thank Stuart and all his team for their unwavering support and each and every company that has bought a banner.

“I would also like to give a special mention to the PNE supporters groups who have fundraised to buy three banners, one dedicated to those North Enders who are no longer with us. You really are the Gentry.”

Thank you to all of those who supported the club in purchasing a banner, take a look through our gallery above to see the banners in place.
