Joe Nolan Named In LFE's 'The 11'

19 March 2020

PNE U18s midfielder Joe Nolan has been named in the League Football Education's 'The 11' for March 2020.

The LFE has recognised the on and off pitch achievements of 11 young footballers. ‘The 11’ acknowledges the football and academic progress of Under-18 players on apprenticeships at current or former English Football League (EFL) clubs - and is also designed to assess other factors, including involvement in community or charity-based initiatives.

The 18-year-old has had an impressive campaign so far in 2019/20, after struggling with injury throughout the first year of his scholarship.

It's been a memorable season so far for the youngster who scored in the 2-0 win over Bristol City at Deepdale in the FA Youth Cup fifth round back in December.

Off the pitch, Joe is exceeding his target grades on the Extended Diploma, working at triple distinction level.

Speaking of Joe's inclusion, LFE regional officer Sarah Kayley said: “Joe is a mature, hard-working and conscientious apprentice who models professionalism at all times. He is surpassing initial expectations in the classroom, which is testament to the fact that Joe puts 100 per cent into everything that he does.

“Good progress has been made on the pitch thanks to Joe’s willingness to self-reflect on his performance, which will stand him in good stead for his continued development.”
