Where In The World Campaign Shortlisted For North West Football Awards

14 October 2020

Preston North End’s ‘Where In The World’ campaign in association with FCI Markets has been named as a finalist for Best Club Marketing, Sponsorship or Engagement Campaign at the 2020 North West Football Awards.

The campaign was in conjunction with our foreign exchange partners FCI Markets and the brief was to create a campaign to give fans a way to engage with the club and keep connected from home and gave fans the opportunity to win a PNE Shirt by entering the competition using the #pneathome on social media.

North End are in good company in this category with both Liverpool and Everton the other two finalists for this award for their campaigns with Carlsberg and Hummel respectively.

The competition was well received, with entries from all over the world and the winners were announced live on the LED perimeter boards in play during the behind closed doors games, giving FCI Markets fantastic exposure while also allowing the fans to see their photographs pitchside on iFollow PNE and Sky while they were unable to attend.

The campaign also allowed FCI Markets to receive valuable data capture and insights into our global territories’ from those who opted to receive information from FCI, the fans who entered felt engaged no matter where in the world they were, be it Preston, Chorley, USA, Saudi Arabia or Canada to name but a few of the places we had entries from.

The club gained valuable insights into our overseas fanbase to build upon the fans we already knew lived overseas and new supporters’ clubs are materialising in countries like Brazil, China and Singapore.

Most of all at a time of uncertainty our football club connected people around the world.

Speaking on being named a finalist, Head of Commercial Stephen Hobin said: “It is a real honour to make it through to the final of such a prestigious event, and really demonstrates the strides we are making to deliver innovative partnerships which benefit all parties. In this case, bringing our supporters together from all across the globe through the power of Preston North End.

“To be alongside Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club in the final is an achievement in itself and we look forward to the virtual ceremony on the 9th November.”
