The One And Only Issue One: Hull City

5 August 2021

The One And Only returns this season with a new-look design, and featuring on the cover for the Hull City game is your 2021 Player of the Year Ryan Ledson.

The last time Ryan and his team-mates played in front of the PNE supporters at Deepdale was back on 7th March 2020, when Queens Park Rangers were the visitors.

A lot has changed since then, but on Saturday afternoon everyone will be back in the ground and the combative midfielder believes that the North End faithful’s homecoming could play a huge role in how their season develops.

He believes that a positive atmosphere from the terraces will provide an added lift when the new EFL Sky Bet Championship season gets underway at 3pm.

Ryan said: “I feel that fans who have not been in stadiums for 18 months will be itching to get back and it should give us a real drive forward if they can get behind us.

“It could make a real difference if they can get Deepdale rocking, which we know it can be. I feel like it is about the fans being positive and staying positive, because we have created that in the training ground, so we need that when we are at Deepdale and hopefully results will come.

“It will take a bit of getting used to [having fans back]. We have been used to empty stadiums for 18 months. We have a little bit of a taste of it in pre-season, with a couple of thousand at games, which has made a big difference, but the big one will be the first game back against Hull City.”

There's plenty more from Ryan in his extended interview inside the matchday programme as he discusses his reponsibility in the team, life off the pitch and ambitions for the upcoming season.

There are loads of features to dig into in this first edition of the campaign, with Greg Cunningham answering fan questions, Ben Whiteman picking his dream dinner party and Declan Rudd tells us the game which changed his career. Lewis Leigh also gives us his thoughts on his pre-season experiences with the first team.

Programmes will be sold around the stadium on Saturday afternoon, but supporters who can't be there, or who would prefer to get it delivered straight to their door, can order online now.
