After sealing a deadline day loan move to Deepdale, central defender Sepp van den Berg said he is hoping to achieve something good this season with Preston North End.
The 19-year-old defender joined on loan until the end of the campaign from Premier League champions Liverpool – a side he has made four senior appearances for since his 2019 move from PEC Zwolle.
Speaking to iFollow PNE, Sepp said: “I’m looking forward to it, I’m happy I’m here. I’m happy hopefully I can play a lot of games, I hopefully can achieve something good this season so I’m really looking forward to the season.
“I’ve had a look around and everything looks good. The people that I’ve met have been really nice to me so I’m really looking forward to it and the facilities are good so hopefully I can develop here very well.
“At Liverpool I’ve learned a lot. There’s great players there, great staff and I’m here to develop myself, hopefully play a lot of games and get the experience as well which for me is the most important thing.
“Everyone at Liverpool believes in me. I’ve spoken with Gary (O’Neil) and Barry (Lewtas), the coaches of the U23s where I play my games, and they have helped me a lot in the first half of the season so that gives me confidence to be here so that always helps.”
Sepp told iFollow what PNE fans can expect when they see the Netherlands U19 international in action, and he also had a word to say on Ben Davies who this evening completed a move to Liverpool.
He said: “I’m a centre back of course. I’m quite quick, I’m tall, I’m good on the ball so hopefully I can play some games and play out from the back.
“It’s good for both. For Ben, I don’t know him, but going to Liverpool is a great move – I’ve experienced that myself. For me coming here it’s great to get some gametime hopefully and develop myself so there’s been some nice goings on between the two clubs.”
