Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen can’t wait to get started after joining the club on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old joins on loan from Leicester City, and after a spell out on loan at Belgian side OH Leuven during the first half of the season, Iversen is now looking to play a more regular role for the Lilywhites.
Speaking to iFollow PNE after signing the deal, Daniel said: “I cannot wait to start, I have sat on the bench in Belgium for a couple of months now and hopefully I can come and play some games for the last five months of the season, hopefully I can get some games in and help the team.
“I really enjoyed my time in League One and League Two, I went to Belgium and then played the first five games, after that I got an injury and I was on the bench, that was a different time for me after always playing for two years. Now I come here to Preston and I cannot wait to show the staff that I want to play so hopefully I can come closer to the team now.
There will be a familiar face at PNE for our new No.22, as he teams up with goalkeeping coach Mike Pollitt once again after the pair previously worked together at Rotherham United.
“We have got good staff here and I cannot wait to come in and start training. I know how he [Mike] works, I know his session and his personality and I know that he’s a funny guy and that’s what I want, to have a smile on my face when I go out to train and he’s a good lad to do that.
Iversen has already received a call up to Denmark’s senior squad, and after representing them through the age groups, he is hoping he can become a regular in that squad by showing what he can do with the Lilywhites.
My plan in the summer was to go to Belgium and play a little bit more football, they play out, and I thought I could maybe be closer to that but it was not the case, I didn’t always play so hopefully now I can get some games in.”
