DJ Plays 90 Minutes In Jamaica Victory

13 July 2021

Daniel Johnson played 90 minutes and claimed an assist for Jamaica last night as they got off to a winning start in the Gold Cup.

The Reggae Boyz scored twice in the opening 26 minutes of their Group C game against Suriname to set themselves up for a 2-0 victory.

PNE midfielder DJ was involved in the first goal of the evening, picking the ball up on the edge of the box before Shamar Nicholson took over and found the bottom corner just six minutes into the game.

Fulham’s Bobby Decordova-Reid then doubled the scoring for his country with a stunning volley from just over 20 yards out.

Jamaica’s next game of the tournament takes place on Friday evening at 11.30 BST against Guadeloupe, who were beaten by Costa Rica in their opening fixture.
