DJ To Represent Jamaica In Gold Cup

2 July 2021

Daniel Johnson has been selected as part of Jamaica’s 23-man squad for this month’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.

DJ has already joined up with his international team-mates in Orlando ahead of the tournament which gets underway next week, meaning he will miss at least the opening stages of PNE’s pre-season.

The midfielder has already represented his country on two occasions, scoring once, and he will be looking to add to that when Jamaica’s tournament kicks off on Monday 12th July at 11.30pm (UK time) against Suriname.

Their other opponents are yet to be completely finalised, with Costa Rica making up part of Group C, whereas the final team is yet to be confirmed.

How long DJ is away with the Reggae Boyz for is of course dependent on how they fare in the tournament, with the final scheduled to take place on Monday 2nd August at 1.30am (UK time).

Everyone at Preston North End would like to pass on their best wishes to Daniel for the tournament.
