Manchester City Friendly To Be Played Behind Closed Doors

21 July 2021

Preston North End have received confirmation from Manchester City that the friendly on 27th July (7pm kick-off) will be played behind closed doors.

The pre-season fixture against the Premier League champions taking place at the Academy Stadium was initially anticipated to be played in front of supporters, but City have had to close their Academy building in recent days due to a number of positive Covid-19 tests.

Due to the short period between the end of the isolation period and the game, City have decided to take a precautionary approach ahead of the new season.

Supporters will still be able to stream the game through iFollow PNE, with a £4.49 monthly pass, which will also give access to the Wigan Athletic and Manchester United games later that week. Click here for full details on this.
