For the first time since 2010, fierce Lancashire rivals Preston North End and Blackpool are ready to face each other in league action.
North End will make the short trip down the M55 to Bloomfield Road on Saturday 23rd October, while Neil Critchley’s side will come to Deepdale on Saturday 19th March.
The two sides have a long history going all the way back to their first league meeting in 1901 and PNE have the better record of the two, having won 45 games compared to Blackpool’s 30.
Fellow Lancashire side Blackburn Rovers have been more regular opponents to the Lilywhites in recent years, and the two will reconvene again in the 2021/22 season at Ewood Park on Saturday 4th December, while the reverse fixture at Deepdale will take place on Saturday 23rd April.
Since Rovers returned to the Championship in 2018, the Lilywhites have had a strong record against their rivals, coming out on top in four of the six meetings.
Please note that these fixtures are subject to change.
