Back in September 2005 North End picked up a positive result at a sunny Den, when Patrick Agyemang scored the winner for the Lilywhites to ensure Millwall remained bottom of the early Championship table.
On loan Manchester United midfielder David Jones opened the scoring for PNE with a 25-yard free-kick after Alan Dunne had fouled David Nugent.
PNE striker Nugent failed to score from eight yards before Don Hutchison equalised with another free-kick.
And the Lions searched for the lead, forcing Carlo Nash to save from Barry Hayles, before Marvin Elliott gave away possession and Agyemang raced clear to score the winner.
After the game, Millwall manager Colin Lee said: "The reason we lost this game is because we can't handle certain situations. We have players in the team who are doing everything they can, but they are not good enough in certain areas.
"Preston's second goal came because we lost our shape: we lost the ball deep in their half and they should not score from those positions."
Then North End assistant boss David Kelly added: "That was one of the ugliest games you will ever see. There were a lot of tackles flying in and it was difficult to referee. But we came here, stood up to it and I think we deserved to win.
"Patrick Agyemang has been on fire in training over the last ten days. His goal was all about power and pace and he deserved it.
