The winners of the Player Awards 2021 have been revealed, with Ryan Ledson the big winner picking up the two main awards after an impressive season in the heart of North End's midfield.
The awards were presented at the club's Euxton training ground ahead of the final game of the season against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Midfielder Ryan Ledson picked up the main Player of the Year award, voted for by the fans, and he also received recognition from his teammates in picking up the Players' Player of the Year.
Ledson has made almost 40 appearances this season and has established himself as a regular in the middle of the park, and his leadership qualities on and off the pitch have seen him take the captain's armband when required.
Leading goalscorer Scott Sinclair picked up the goal of the season award for his superb goal away at AFC Bournemouth, a goal the man himself describes as one of the best of his career. The forward saw the Bournemouth 'keeper Asmir Begovic off his line and fired a brilliant effort in to the top left-hand corner from 40 yards!
Goalkeeper Declan Rudd was also amongst the winners, collecting the Community Player of the Year award for the second year running, a reward for his continued work with the PNE Community and Education Trust, in particular his support of their mental health programme.
Dec was also awarded with the PFA Community Champion trophy, further recognition for his superb work in the community.
Finally, second year scholar Jacob Holland-Wilkinson was named Scholar of the Year after a superb season for the youngster. Jacob has been in fine form for the U18s and has caught the eye of the first team coaching team having trained regularly with the first team squad, and has been named on the bench for the first team on a number of occasions throughout the season.
Congratulations to all of the winners, keep an eye out across the club website and iFollow PNE over the next week for reaction from our winners!
