Pre-Season Fixtures Confirmed So Far

31 May 2021

Preston North End have started to confirm plans for pre-season with five fixtures announced so far.

Frankie McAvoy's side will start their 2021/22 season preparations with a trip to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium to face Bamber Bridge on Saturday 10th July.

Brig have regularly hosted PNE in recent times, but it will be the first visit since 2019 to the Northern Premier League side.

The Lilywhites will then travel to Scotland for a training camp which will consist of friendlies against St Johnstone and Celtic.

It'll be a familiar face in the home dugout when North End face St Johnstone on Tuesday 13th July at 7pm, with former defender Callum Davidson in charge of the Saints, who won two domestic trophies in the 2020/21 campaign.

PNE will then face 51-time Scottish champions Celtic on Saturday 17th July at 5.30pm.

Scott Sinclair in particular will be looking forward to that trip to Celtic Park having spent a very successful three and a half years with the Bhoys before moving to Deepdale. You can read his thoughts on his return to Celtic Park in pre-season by clicking here

The squad will then return to Lancashire to play newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers on neutral ground at the County Ground in Leyland on Tuesday 20th July, with kick-off coming at 7pm.

The next and final confirmed fixture so far is then another short trip, this one to the DW Stadium to play Wigan Athletic at the end of the month on Friday 30th July, with the game getting underway at 7.30pm.

More fixtures are still to be confirmed, and we will also update supporters on whether or not they will be able to attend the matches as soon as we have confirmation from the government, local authorities and the host clubs themselves.
