Two more opponents have been confirmed on PNE’s pre-season fixture list, with games against Wigan Athletic and Bamber Bridge scheduled for July.
North End will kick off their preparations for the 2021/22 season in the game against Brig on Saturday 10th July at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium at 3pm.
In recent years, North End have been regular opponents of the non-league side, with the last friendly between the two coming in 2019, where Tom Clarke and Louis Moult scored in a 2-0 victory.
Jamie Milligan’s side will be keen to properly prepare for the new campaign following the early curtailment of their Northern Premier League season.
Later in the month, Frankie McAvoy will take his side to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic, on Friday 30th July for a 7.30pm kick-off.
Wigan will be buoyed after retaining their League One status when, for large parts of the 2020/21 season, it looked as though they were going to suffer consecutive relegations, but caretaker manager Leam Richardson – who has been given the role permanently – steered them to safety.
At this stage we are waiting on confirmation from the government, local authorities and the host clubs before we can confirm whether supporters can attend any of our pre-season fixtures. Below is the schedule confirmed so far.
