An update on the club's work in the area of supporter engagement and its commitment to further developing fan interaction.
Fan engagement is important to us. We are aware that many fans feel disconnected and unhappy with the current relationship between themselves and the club. This is something we are committed to addressing as Director Peter Ridsdale explains.
"To commit to properly dealing with the current feeling amongst fans, it is crucial that we give the appropriate senior management focus on the interface with our supporters.
"Therefore I am pleased to confirm that Ben Rhodes, Football Club Secretary, will now take on the additional role of Head of Fan Engagement. Ben has been with the club for over 20 years and is a lifelong PNE fan. This background and experience makes him the obvious person to undertake this crucial new role.
"As part of these initiatives, we have recently entered into discussions with the newly formed supporters group, Preston Supporters Collective and are currently discussing a more formal 'memorandum of understanding' with this representative group.
"We are committed to developing relationships and open dialogue with as wide a supporter representation as is appropriate, in order that we can move the club forward together.
"This appointment will lead to a number of new initiatives designed to engage as broad a representation as possible from our supporter base."
