Preston North End striker Emil Riis has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship player of the month award for October.
Riis has been in fine form for North End this season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions so far, with four of those coming last month.
The Danish forward has been growing in confidence every game and his performances have earned him a new contract which topped off a positive month for the 23-year-old.
Riis scored away at QPR before netting a sweetly struck winner against Coventry City at Deepdale, which was bettered by a stunning strike against Luton Town, a game in which he also scored a penalty, to secure another three points for the Lilywhites.
The winners will be announced on Friday 12th November, with Emil up against Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly, Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and Blackpool’s Jerry Yates for the accolade.
The judging panel for the award includes Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL communications director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
