On Saturday afternoon at Deepdale, Preston North End will be paying tribute to Mr Trevor Hemmings CVO following his sad passing this week.
Supporters are asked to get to their seats early and join us in celebrating the life of Mr Hemmings ahead of kick-off, with a special tribute video being played on the big screen from 2.45pm.
The captain on the day will then lead out the teams holding a flat cap, a trademark of Mr Hemmings, which will be placed on the centre circle before Deepdale stands for a minute's applause to remember a man who devoted almost half a century of his life to Preston North End.
Players from both teams will wear black armbands for the match, while the club have received approval from the EFL to have specially made corner flags for the game, displaying Mr Hemmings' racing colours of green and yellow quarters.
With all gate receipts from the game already going towards charities supported by Mr Hemmings, supporters will also have the opportunity to donate on the day if they wish with collection buckets around the concourses and in the club shop.
We are hoping this weekend's game can be a memorable one for all of those attending as we celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
There will be plenty of other activities ahead of kick-off too, with the fan zone opening from 12noon, with live music, a Q&A with former club captain John Welsh and lots of activities for supporters of all ages with the Preston North End Community and Education Trust.
The Terrace will also be in attendance in the fan zone for the first time this weekend so make sure you pop and see them with giveaways and more from their gazebo, and Welshy will also be paying them a visit!
