Fresh from his 50th goal for the Lilywhites, Daniel Johnson is the cover star for the Lilywhites clash with West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
The North End No.11 speaks about his influences, his Jamaican heritage and on the day he will line up against a squad containing five former PNE team-mates, he admits will be something to look forward to.
Come 3pm on Saturday, DJ will take on one of the players who spent a lot of time by his side during their time at Deepdale together in Callum Robinson.
‘Robbo’ and DJ came through the Aston Villa Academy at the same time and the pair would eventually go on to reunite at PNE.
“It was always a pleasure,” Daniel smiled. “Growing up with him, sharing a changing room with him, sharing a room with him – he was my roomie when he was here for many years!
“Those things play a massive part in the changing room, knowing someone that you can always bounce off no matter what.
"He knew that I was someone he could come and speak to no matter what it was, family or football, it didn’t matter. He’s one of my best pals.
“So, it’s always nice to see your good mates doing well and scoring goals. Scoring goals, creating chances, getting assists, that’s his thing, but hopefully that’s not the case against us. I wouldn’t mind if he has an off day!”
