Matchday Programme

On an afternoon where he could become the 28th man to play 300 times for Preston North End, Daniel Johnson is our cover star and main interview in The One And Only.

With an all-new look, our matchday programme is back, and while the amount of pages has reduced from last season, there is still plenty for you to read – especially from DJ who talks all about his time so far at Deepdale.

You can pick up a copy from around the ground for £3.50 on Saturday, or order a copy to arrive to your home by clicking here.

In The Dressing Room

PNE will be without striker Ched Evans following his red card at Wigan Athletic last weekend.

Bambo Diaby, who missed the trip to the DW Stadium, is a doubt for this one after taking a knock to his knee, while Sean Maguire remains sidelined.

It could be a big day for Daniel Johnson on Saturday, given that an appearance would make him the 28th man in club history to play 300 times competitively in a PNE shirt.

A Look At Our Visitors

It’s been a year of change so far for Hull City, since the arrival of Turkish businessman and TV personality, Acun Ilıcalı as owner in January 2022.

One of his first acts was to bring Shota Arveladze to the club as head coach, and this summer there have been eight new players through the door, too.

Among them they have a 65-time capped Turkish international in Ozan Tufan, former Nottingham Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo and ex-Fulham man Jean Michaël Seri, with the latter claiming a late winner in last weekend’s victory over Bristol City.

One To Watch

Having once cost Fulham a fee reported to be over £20m, Hull City probably couldn’t believe their luck when they were able to bring Jean Michaël Seri in this summer without having to pay a transfer fee.

The Ivory Coast international had just seen his contract expire at Craven Cottage, where he enjoyed promotion last season, and he will now spend the upcoming campaign in the Championship as a Tiger.

Things couldn’t have started much better for central midfielder Seri, scoring a 94th-minute winner in front of almost 17,000 supporters on his competitive debut.

Match Officials

Jeremy Simpson is the man with the whistle this weekend for his first Championship game of the season.

Simpson, who took charge of Tranmere Rovers vs Stevenage last weekend, refereed PNE three times during the 2021/22 campaign, including the 2-1 victory away to Stoke City at the beginning of 2022.

He will be assisted by Richard Wild and Geoffrey Liddle, while Peter Wright is the fourth official.
