Preston North End’s youth team will take part in the U18 Professional Development Cup during the 2022/23 campaign.
The competition includes Category 2, 3 and 4 clubs, and is run by the Premier League.
Teams take part in a regionalised group stage firstly, consisting of three matches, with the winner of each other group – as well as the best placed runner-up – progressing to the knockout stages.
PNE will face Blackpool, Burnley and Wigan Athletic in the group stage, with full details of the fixtures below:
Saturday 3rd September, 10.30am: PNE vs Blackpool, Springfields.
Saturday 8th October, 10.30am: Wigan Athletic vs PNE, Christopher Park.
Saturday 5th November, 10.30am: PNE vs Burnley, Springfields.
The Youth Alliance Cup tie away at Grimsby Town, which was initially scheduled for 3rd September, will now take place on Wednesday 14th September.
