Cross-Adair Feeling Confident

7 February 2022

Finlay Cross-Adair believes the team “have what it takes to win the league” as North End thrashed Salford City 4-0 in the Youth Alliance League.

A Mikey O’Neill double as well as strikes from Jacob Slater and Cross-Adair saw North End cruise to victory on a wet and windy day in Salford.

Striker Cross-Adair was heavily involved in the action all game, chipping in with a second-half strike.

The forward was pleased with the side's performance, especially with the conditions.

Speaking to PNE.Com after the game, Finlay said: “I thought it was a great performance, I thought we dealt with the conditions well, playing on not the best of pitches is never easy.

“To come here and beat Salford 4-0 is a really good result, especially since they beat us at the start of the season, it was really good to get the win."

This win marked six league wins on the bounce for North End and in those six games the team have scored 24 goals and conceded just the three.

“The consistency the team is playing with right now is really good.” Said Cross-Adair.

“To get towards the top of the table, we’ve done really well as a team and as a group.

“We just need to continue this going into the final stretch of the season and keep picking up wins which will be really good for us.

“If we keep this consistency and scoring goals and keeping clean sheets then I think we have what it takes to win the league.”

Cross-Adair scored the third goal of the game for the Lilywhites and the striker is confident that more goals are coming.

“It felt really good to be on the scoresheet." He continued. “I’ve not scored as many as I would have liked this year which is something I have been working on in training.

“It’s always good to get on the scoresheet and fingers crossed, I’m confident that more goals will come.”
