Preston North End forward Emil Riis has been shortlisted for January’s PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award.
PNE’s No.19, who has scored 16 times in all competitions so far this season, added four to his tally last month, with two of those earning late points for his side.
His first in January came in the 89th minute at Deepdale as ten-man PNE fought back to earn a point against Sheffield United, before he then opened the scoring in a 2-0 victory away to West Bromwich Albion.
Returning to Deepdale a few days later, Riis scored a brace against Bristol City, with his second strike being an incredible volley which earned North End a draw in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.

Emil is up against Tom Lawrence, Darragh Lenihan, Chris Willock, Harry Wilson and Aleksandar Mitrovic, with a winner to be announced on Monday 14th February.
