On the final day of our training camp in Spain, we caught up with sports science assistant Luke Hemmings to discuss how the fitness department have been keeping track of the team.
Training in the warm weather of Alicante unsurprisingly meant that things had to be done slightly differently, with a particular emphasis placed on hydration.
Luke also explained the importance of the data received by the GPS performance trackers worn by each player during training, not only to measure all the metrics, but to use it in order to adapt future sessions, if necessary, to manage workloads and maximise performance.
