Harry Nevin Pens Professional Deal

1 July 2022

Harry Nevin has officially put pen to paper on a one-year professional deal at Preston North End, with the club having the option of a further year.

As previously confirmed, the central defender’s scholarship which was signed in 2020 included professional terms set to follow at the end of his two years as a scholar.

That spell ended at the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign, when the Republic of Ireland youth international captained the U19s to a league and cup double.

The 18-year-old has now officially begun his time as a professional at North End, but he will still be able to feature for the U19s during the upcoming season.

After signing his deal, Harry said: “I’m absolutely delighted. It’s a dream come true to sign my first professional contract.

“It’s the next step for me and a new challenge now for the new season so I’m looking forward to it.

“I’m looking to catch the manager’s eye and get myself in and around the first team.

“It’s brilliant he’s giving younger players a chance so if I’m playing well then he might give me my chance.”

Manager Ryan Lowe added: "He's another youngster who has earned himself a contract based on how he played last season.

"All the hard work starts for him now to try and impress every day and get himself into the first team picture here at Preston North End."
