Match Preview: Getafe (N)

11 July 2022

Preston North End will take on Getafe on Tuesday morning in front of more than 300 supporters making the journey from the UK to Spain.

North End will take on the La Liga side in Campoamor at 10.45am local time, and fans are able to attend the game without a ticket, free of charge. Full information for those coming to watch the fixture can be found by clicking here.

Unfortunately, due to logistics, there will be no live stream of this match, however you can follow updates live on social media.

PNE have been in Alicante since landing late on Friday evening, and have certainly been put to work in the Spanish heat.

Getafe are enjoying a pre-season camp themselves, training at the Pinatar Arena, located in Murcia around an hour outside of Campoamor.

The friendly against the Lilywhites will be the first of their pre-season preparations, with the Spanish side set to undergo a schedule involving five fixtures, with the likes of CD Leganes and Elche to come later in July.

Managed by former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, Getafe will be looking to improve on their 15th-place finish from the 2021/22 campaign.

Their main man during that season was Turkish forward Enes Ünal, who netted 16 times in the league, and he has reportedly attracted plenty of interest from top European sides this summer.

In terms of PNE team news, Ryan Lowe has a 23-man squad to choose from in Spain, with Sean Maguire having missed out on the camp due to an injury he picked up against Bamber Bridge.
