Given the World Cup is taking place in Qatar later this year, the 2022/23 Championship season will look very different to usual.
After finding out the fixture list on Thursday 23rd June, Preston North End will kick off the campaign on the weekend of 30th July.
Fixtures will run until September, with an international break scheduled for the week commencing 19th September, and league action will then take another pause after the round of games played on 12th November.
That will be a four-week break to allow called-up players to join their country ahead of the World Cup, with league action then resuming on 10th December, which is the weekend of the World Cup quarter-finals.
After that, there is just one international break in March before the regular season comes to a conclusion on Saturday 6th May, with the Play-Off final set to follow at Wembley on Monday 29th May.
