He then played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Ukraine in Poland, which saw them end the international period sat third in their group.
Elsewhere, McCann featured three times for Northern Ireland in what proved to be a frustrating run of fixtures, taking two points from their four matches.
The central midfielder started on two occasions, against Greece and Kosovo, and came on as a substitute away to Cyprus.
Meanwhile, Harry Nevin featured once for the Republic of Ireland U19s, playing an hour in a 3-0 victory over Iceland in Spain.
