Preston North End have been drawn away to Huddersfield Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The date of the fixture is to be confirmed, but it will take place at the John Smith’s Stadium during the week commencing 8th August, following the opening two games of the Championship season.
North End will meet the Terriers again in the Championship on Tuesday 18th October, before the return fixture takes place at Deepdale on Boxing Day.
It is a change for North End in the league cup, having been drawn against Mansfield Town in round one for the past two seasons, coming out on top on both occasions.
Last term, PNE made it to the fourth round and were defeated at Deepdale by Liverpool.
