PNE U18 Face Luton Town In Youth Alliance Cup Final

3 May 2022

Preston North End U18 head to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday evening in search of the league and cup double.

Nick Harrison takes his side to Bedfordshire to take on Luton Town for a 7pm kick-off, as the two compete for the Youth Alliance Cup trophy.

North End have already been crowned champions of the North West Conference, following a remarkable season, and they’ll be looking to add another piece of silverware to their impressive campaign.

PNE reached the final of the cup with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers last month, while Luton Town got the better of AFC Wimbledon in their semi-final with a 3-2 victory away from home.

The Hatters have had a mixed season themselves, finishing eighth out of ten teams in the South East Conference, whereas they finished top of the Merit League 2 table last weekend with a victory over Leyton Orient.

Meanwhile, North End go into Tuesday's final following defeat to Blackpool on Saturday – albeit it was a very young side fielded – and before that PNE had gone 13 games unbeaten in all competitions.

Due to competition rules, only players aged 18 and under can feature for North End, therefore the likes of Jacob Holland-Wilkinson and Lewis Coulton are unavailable for selection.

Supporters can attend the fixture, with tickets on sale online from Luton Town’s ticketing website until 4.30pm on Tuesday, while coach travel is available from Deepdale with a departure time of 1pm. Find full details here.

Those unable to attend can follow live updates on the club’s Academy Twitter account @pnefcacademy, with reaction and match highlights to follow on PNE.Com.
