PNE To Play Two Behind-Closed-Doors Friendlies This Week

29 November 2022

Preston North End will play two behind-closed-doors friendlies this week ahead of a return to Championship action next Saturday.

Since returning to training at the beginning of last week, the players have contested an intra-squad game at Euxton, which also included some of PNE’s U19 side.

During this week, though, Ryan Lowe’s men will play two friendlies before then having a full week to prepare for the Lancashire derby against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 10th December.

The manager said: “The lads are champing at the bit to get some competitive football back in them so we’re looking forward to two really tough tests, which are behind closed doors so that we can try one or two things out.

“It’ll be good for us to work on a few things, which is what we’ve been doing for the past week, and training’s been great since the lads have been back in.

“Some lads will play more minutes than others, but ultimately the friendlies will keep us fresh and we’ve organised them now to give us a full week leading into that Blackburn game.”

As part of an agreement between the respective clubs, there will be no coverage of either friendly.
