Preston North End have been awarded the Utilita Performance of the Week trophy for the recent 3-2 victory over Norwich City.
The decision was made by the League Managers Association’s panel, made up of LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Chris Hughton, Rachel Yankey, Les Ferdinand, Clare Tomlinson, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry.
PNE came from behind to defeat the Canaries on Saturday 8th October, ending the home side’s nine-game unbeaten run in the Championship.
Emil Riis scored twice to put North End ahead, before Troy Parrott scored his first league goal for the club after Norwich had equalised.
Manager Ryan Lowe said: “Of course it’s nice to get the recognition, especially when you see the panel.
“Fair play, that’s credit to the lads. The staff obviously take a little bit of credit for putting the gameplan together, but they’re the ones who deserve it, and it’s all of us together.
“Fair play to the boys for getting that because when you look at the panel who judge it, you only have to see one name in Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s great, isn’t it?
“I thought the performance was fantastic and to get the win was even better.”
