Starting from Saturday’s home match against Birmingham City, there will be a set number of turnstiles on each stand at Deepdale specifically for U11 supporters, to try and alleviate the misuse of this age band by older fans.
During the previous home fixtures at Deepdale this season, the club have been disappointed to see older supporters attempt to use significantly lower-priced U11 tickets.
As a result, U11 turnstiles will be introduced and these will be the only location where U11s will be able to enter the stadium with a season card, member card or match ticket, while those attending with the U11 can also enter through the same turnstile.
These turnstiles will be clearly identified, and are specified below, and stewards will also be able to direct supporters to them on a matchday. There will be stewards checking all tickets going through the U11 turnstiles to ensure they are being used correctly.
If a supporter presents a card or ticket at this turnstile that has been purchased for an incorrect age band, then the ticket will be seized and the person who applied for said ticket will be written to by the club.
At this stage, the misuse of the card or ticket will need to be explained, and until a satisfactory conclusion has been made regarding the usage, the supporter’s account or season card will be blocked.
This conclusion will also include an agreement for the club to recover any monies owed for the misuse of tickets, and should payments not be forthcoming, then further sanctions will be imposed, including bans.
