Andrew Hughes and Emil Riis have both been shortlisted for awards at the 2022 Northwest Football Awards.
Hughes is one of three players up for the Championship Player of the Season award, after his impressive performances for Preston North End during the 2021/22 campaign.
The Welshman, who played most of the season on the left of a back three, made 40 appearances in the league last term, and came very close to being voted the club’s Player of the Year.
Hughes is up against Ben Brereton Díaz of Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool’s Martin Ekpiteta.
Emil Riis also had a brilliant year in a North End shirt, scoring 21 goals in all competitions to finish the season as the club’s top scorer.
The Dane – who earned his first senior international call-up during the campaign – is part of a 20-man shortlist for The Athletic Rising Star of the Season award.
You can vote for both players by clicking here, with voting closing at 5pm on Monday 3rd October.
The Northwest Football Awards will then take place on Monday 7th November at Emirates Old Trafford.
