Browne And Keane Called Up By Republic Of Ireland

31 August 2023

Alan Browne and Will Keane have been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for their UEFA EURO qualifiers in September.

The North End duo have two difficult matches on paper on the way during the international break, with the Boys in Green taking on France and the Netherlands.

Stephen Kenny’s men will face 2022 World Cup finalists France – who they were narrowly beaten by in March – for a 7.45pm kick-off in Paris on Thursday 7th September.

Republic of Ireland will then return to the Aviva to host Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands side on Sunday 10th September (7.45pm).

The nation currently sit third in their group after three matches, having picked up their only victory so far against Gibraltar in June.

Skipper Browne has 30 caps for his country, while Keane has made four appearances and will be looking for his first since June 2022.
