Ryan Lowe has confirmed Calvin Ramsay has suffered an injury setback which will leave him sidelined for six to eight weeks.
The Liverpool loanee, who officially joined the club in July, has been unavailable for selection for the opening three fixtures of the 2023/24 season, and he will face a longer wait to make his Preston North End debut.
Ryan said: “Calvin’s had a bit of a setback, but it’s nothing major. We’ll make sure between us and Liverpool that we do the right things with him.
“He’s just had a bit of a setback and we’ll make sure we monitor him now. If it takes six to eight weeks, whatever it takes, we’ll make sure we’ll build him up and get him stronger.
“There’s a lot of rumours that he’s going back to Liverpool and the loan’s being cancelled, that’s not going to happen.
“We’ve got a duty of care to Calvin, so we’ll make sure we get him fit and available for the Championship season.
“I’ve spoken to him a couple of times already and he’s champing at the bit to get back in with us with the lads.”
Everyone at Preston North End wishes Calvin a full and speedy recovery.
