Preston North End will head to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
PNE last faced the Blues in the competition at Deepdale in 2010, while the two sides haven’t met at Stamford Bridge since February 2002 when Richard Cresswell scored in a 3-1 defeat.
North End played at the Bridge in the 1922 FA Cup final, losing narrowly to Huddersfield Town, and the famous Sir Tom Finney splash statue at Deepdale is based on a photograph taken at Chelsea’s home ground in 1956.
The tie will take place on the weekend of 6th/7th January, and ticket details for this fixture will be confirmed in due course.
