2023/24 Fixtures: Derby Days

22 June 2023

After having four Lancashire opponents to look out for during the 2022/23 season, it’s only Blackburn Rovers who North End will battle with in derbies in the upcoming campaign.

The first of the two derbies will take place at Ewood Park – as it has done for the previous two campaigns – with North End set for the short trip on Saturday 11th November, just prior to the international break.

North End’s last trip to Ewood Park was a hugely enjoyable one for the players, staff and all of the 4,270 fans in the away end.

In snowy conditions in East Lancashire, PNE ran riot in the first game back after the Qatar World Cup in December 2022, winning 4-1 thanks to goals from Ben Woodburn, Ben Whiteman, and a Ched Evans brace.

PNE will then host Rovers at Deepdale on Saturday 17th February 2024, looking for a first home victory over them since 2019.

The last time the sides met at Deepdale, Ryan Lowe’s outfit earned a last-gasp point after good work down the right from Liam Delap ended with Rovers defender Dominic Hyam putting the ball into the back of his own net, meaning the game ended at 1-1.
