Championship clubs will be able to name nine substitutes during the 2023/24 campaign, still having the ability to use five.
Last season, all EFL clubs were permitted to name benches of seven players, but following a discussion between clubs, teams in the Sky Bet Championship will now be able to name two extra players in a matchday squad.
As was the case last season, each club will be permitted a maximum of three opportunities to make five substitutions during a league fixture.
More than one substitution can be made in each window and any half-time changes will not count towards the three opportunities.
