Browne And Parrott Called Up By Republic Of Ireland

16 March 2023

Alan Browne and Troy Parrott have both been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming international break.

Stephen Kenny’s side face two tough tests at home – an international friendly against Latvia on Wednesday 22nd March (7.45pm) and a Euro 2024 qualifying campaign opener against France at 7.45pm on Monday 27th March.

Under the lights of the Aviva Stadium, they welcome the World Cup finalists, in what will be the opening game of Group B – with the Netherlands, Greece and Gibraltar making up the rest of the five-team group.

The PNE duo both made an appearance in a 3-2 Nations League group win over Armenia back in September – a game which Robbie Brady won with a stoppage-time penalty – and Browne also featured in November’s international friendlies too.

As for Parrott, a lengthy spell with injury meant that the Tottenham Hotspur loanee was unable to compete in the previous friendlies, but is now back in contention for the Latvia and France encounters.

Congratulations and best of luck, lads!
