DJ Called Up For Jamaica Once Again

20 March 2023

Daniel Johnson has been selected to represent Jamaica in the upcoming international break.

DJ, who has ten caps for his country, has been named in the squad which will face Mexico at 1am (UK time) on Monday 27th March in CONCACAF Nations League action.

Jamaica – in Group A alongside Mexico and Suriname – currently top the table with five points, but Mexico’s game in hand could change the rankings depending on the result, as they are just one point behind.

The group leader of each of the four groups within League A will qualify for the Nations League finals in June 2023, while Jamaica are also on track to qualify for the Gold Cup.

In the previous encounter between the two sides, the Reggae Boyz were held to a 1-1 draw, with Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey having found the opener inside four minutes.

Johnson last featured for his nation in September 2022, when he played the full 90 minutes against future world champions Argentina in a friendly.

Congratulations and good luck, DJ!
