Alan Browne Selected By Republic Of Ireland

31 May 2023

Club captain Alan Browne has been called up by Republic of Ireland for their upcoming qualifiers.

The Boys in Green have a double header on the cards in June as they continue their qualification campaign for UEFA EURO 2024.

Stephen Kenny’s men will firstly face Greece in Athens at 7.45pm on Friday 16th June, before returning to the Aviva Stadium to host Gibraltar for a 7.45pm kick-off on Monday 19th June.

Ireland have only played the one game so far in their competitive group, losing narrowly to France in March.

Browne came on as a substitute that night for what was his 29th cap for his nation, and they ended the night feeling they were perhaps unlucky not to take anything from the match.

The North End skipper hasn’t featured much since that point, though, having missed the final six matches of the season with a knee injury, which he has been nursing back to health since the end of the campaign.
